We have just went live with a new website that used to be on an IIS server internally. Now it is being hosted by another company public. I have changed the A record in our DNS servers to point to the new Public IP address on our 3 DNS servers. Once it propagated everyone external to our network can see the new website.
Internally no one can get to the website. I can ping www.domain.net and I receive the IP address of the new server. If I try and ping domain.net it tells me it can't resolve name. If I type it in the browser it automatically redirects to domain.net and we get this page cannot be reached.
Our DNS server has a forward lookup zone that is the same domain.net. I have stopped the website for the old server. I am not sure what is making it redirect from www.domain.net to domain.net. Why I am able to ping www.domain.net and resolve to the right IP and when I ping domain.net it can't resolve.
I have tried everything. If I change my DNS on my PC to google 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2 I am able to get to the website. The minute I put my internal DSN back in I get can't reach website. Which I assume it is internal DNS issue but not sure how to fix it. We have 3 DNS servers and all the www A records are pointing to the new IP address for the website.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as to where I should look next.
